An investigation of the rock magnetic properties using stepwise IRM acquisition, thermomagnetic analysis and remanent characteristics, identifies magnetite as the carrier of the main fraction of the remanence for the paleosoil unit S1 in the Dingbian, Weinan, Xifeng loess sections.
